It's Over

~~~~ Sad
As Collins said after Angel died from AIDS, "it's over." Now, the fact that Chanda left today for California is not nearly as horrible as losing her to AIDS (she doesn't have them, by the way) but she is gone. We spent all of yesterday together. For some reason the power went out at her house and we had a good time in the dark. I helped her pack, we had milkshakes from Dairyland, and we hunted Casey down to get all our Sims back. Then, since she had some pillowcases to sew, she came to my house and put all the Sims onto her computer while she sewed. It was nice, we had the Indians game on and we gushed over Grady Sizemore whenever he was on. Then, the hours began to wear down and I knew it was about time to get Chanda home. I felt quite confident as I dropped off her stuff on her kitchen table that I wouldn't cry. But then, we hugged good-bye. Oh the tears came. They weren't ugly tears but they were tears nevertheless. The just kinda slid off my face and all I could say was "don't leave." We both kinda cried for a while then I went home. I feel a lot better now. I eve saw this pretty sky tonight and it made me feel a lot better. I know it'll only be a few months before we see each other again. And email and cell phones are a real blessing. Now I need to start concentraiting on my own trip to college. Here I go... watch my speed!
As the Paths Diverge
~~~~ Contemplative

Tomorrow is Chanda's last day in town. I mean, for a very long time. She's heading off to California for school. She's attending Pamona College. Hopefully I'll feel the same way tomorrow as I do right now. I'm not necessarily upset, curious is a better term for my mood right now. I mean, sure, it's gonna suck that she's moving away and I won't see her for like 3 or 4 months but I will see her again. Maybe that's why I'm not going into emotional overdrive. We've gotten a lot better with talking on the phone lately and there's the internet and everything. I'll be talking to her all the time. No problem. It stinks when your best friend moves away but life does go on. I think Felicia and I are gonna head to the mall next week so I have that to look forward to and, of course, there's the fact that I'm going to college too! See? Chanda's going to school? Me too, no problem!

Tonight the two of use and Carolyn went to Applebees for dinner and we saw Sky High. I made the two of them these oversized tote bags and I filled them with flip flops, air fresheners, stain removers, candy, magazines, and, in Carolyn's I included a picture of my puppy, Shelby, holding a stuffed firehydrine Carolyn got her in her mouth. It's very cute. It was a nice night and there was this boy in the movie named Steven Strait... well, that's his real name, in the movie he was called Warren Peace (get it, Warr and Peace... Warren Peace... it's cute) and his hands caught fire. ;)
oo-la-la

Anywhoo, I'll keep my eyes out for a good pic of him and if I find one oh,he's totally going in my Cute Boys Gallery

Tomorrow I'll probably be at Chanda's the vast majority of the day. I also really need to do the Alcohol EDU thing for Miami soon but I need a high speed computer. Video images on a dial-up modem = disaster. I think I'll call Tom after he gets off work to see if he wants to do it Friday or Saturday. It's wonderul not to be working and have all the free time in the world. Right now I need to go looking for my text books and start ordering them. Oh the joys of college!

My Summer Has Finally Begun

~~~~ Peachy Keen
I know it's August 1st but since today is the first day I am jobless this summer. I woke up at 9:30 and stayed in bed for a while to watch a Pooh Bear marathon on the Disney channel. Then I set up the sewing machiene and worked on Chanda's bag. I'm almost finished with it and I should get hers and Carolyn's bags done by tomorrow. Then Thursday I think we're going out to dinner and then to see Sky High so that'll be the perfect time to give them their gift bags!
Then the door bell rang and it was Carolyn! She actually wanted to see Sky High today so we went to wake up Chanda (it was 12:40 and she was still asleep!) and we went to Bob Evans for lunch. Then Carolyn remembered she had a doctors appointment so Chanda and I went to see Must Love Dogs.
I went to see it because it had a westie in it... my dog! It was a cute movie. I don't think I'd ever see it again but it was cute. Then Tania and I hung out at Chanda's for a while then I came home. It was a nice day. I wanna finish my book by tomorrow so I can go to the library. I also have to return A Nightmare Before Christmas to Blockbuster.
Tomorrow's Chanda's party though so that comes first and foremost. It's at 7 though so I have a ton of time to finish everything. I think I'll visit Tom at lunch... it'll make him happy. I kinda blew him off today when he called. I was talking to my roomate Felicia, that was so much more important. The more I talk to her the more uber cool she sounds. I can't wait to meet her!
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
~~~~Content

Today Tom and I went to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It was worth seeing... once but I don't think I'll ever need to go back. I did see some stuff that belonged to Jim Morrison and Steven Tyler. That made me pretty happy. We learned all about the rock opera 'Tommy' from The Who. In marching band we played "Pinball Wizard" from the movie but I didn't know much about it. I mean, I didn't even know Elton John played the Pinball Wizard. Then we went to Legacy Village for some Gelato from La Gelateria. And we went to Beachwood just because. They have a Sweet Factory though so I bought Tom some German Raspberries. They're the best invention in the world!

We had Subway for dinner and now we're watching A Nightmare Before Christmas. I've never seen it before and I thought I should watch it before I saw The Corpse Bride. I kinda enjoy these movies. They're cute in a strange way. We're just meeting the Oogie Boogie Man. Tomorrow I think I'll finish Chanda and Carolyn's bags. I should have them done soon because Chanda's leaving for California. It's kinda strange to think that things are changing for good now but I'm still looking forward to school so much now and being out on my own that I'm not too upset. It'll all be okay now, I promise (myself).

Oh Joy of Joys

~~~~ Hopeful
This week couldn't go better. First off, as you can see at my Custom Page tomorrow is my last day of work! The best part? Chanda and I are going shopping and I'm getting off at work at 2:30 instead of 4:00! Can it get even better? Oh you betcha! My mom gets a clothing allowance at work of $150 and she said I can have it tomorrow!!! That's $150 worth of clothing for freakin' free! Oh sweet-ass-sweet.
Then, Saturday Tom and I are going to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I've never been and I really wanna see it before I leave for this area. We're planning to leave around 10 in the morning, stop by at a mall and get me a fancy new orange faceplate for my phone. Then Panera Bread for lunch (yay) and then a delightful day at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
What a super weekend!!! The best part? I DON'T HAVE TO GO BACK TO WORK ON MONDAY!!!
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
~~~~ Distressed

WARNING!!!! I'm blatantly talking about the book here. If you haven't read the book and don't want anything given away don't read my entry... You've been warned.

[cut]Okay, here's my theory.

Dumbledore isn't dead. Now, I know he, well, died, in the 6th book but hear me out. Go back and read the chapter where he dies. As soon as Snape enters the scene Dumbledore begins to plead to Snape. Well, your assuming he's pleading with Snape NOT to kill him. But if you re-read it, you can take it that Dumbledore is asking Snape to kill him. Weird, I know, but what if Dumbledore knows there's something he needs to do but he needs to be dead first... okay, that's really weird too but I can't explain it. I just have this feeling that Dumbledore felt he needed to die and so he arranged something with Snape. I mean, if Snape really betrayed him and killed him for Voldemort, don't you think the scene where Dumbledore realized Snape was against him the entire time would be more dramatic. I mean, Dumbledore just kinda took it and let Snape kill him. And this is Dumbledore we're talking about. You think he'd have fought until the end. With or without a stomach full of potion. I know it sounds crazy but... I mean, Black's death was just as abrupt as Dumbledore's but he fell through a curtain in the DEATH CHAMBER and maybe Rowling made Black's death so sudden to make readers think that's how she writes her death so Dumbledore coming back will be an even bigger suprise. Here's another reason I think he isn't dead yet. Fawkes. At Dumbledore's funeral, Harry says he saw a phoenix dive into the tomb as it was being closed. I think that was Fawkes and he's there to heal Dumbledore of his broken bones from falling off the tower. While his soul, I believe, is in a Horcrux. What do you think?

Oh, and I think R.A.B. (the initials in the locket) is Black's brother and that's why he was killed my Voldemort.

But... general feelings of the book. Oh, it was sooo sad!

I did okay with Dumbledore's actual death, I made it seeing through Harry seeing his body, I made it through Hagrid finding out, but once everyone was sitting in the Hospital Wing and Fawkes began to lament... I lost it. I mean, Lord of the Rings... there were tears... soft gentle tears just kinda trickling off my face. But when Fawkes began to cry I CRIED. We're talking ugly faced, sobbing, make-your-head-ache crying.

But through it all I was glad there were so many relationships in the book. A lot of love... I was digging it. Fleur and Bill, Ron and Hermione (or Lavender), Harry and Ginny (squeal), and, the best one, Tonks and Lupin. It made me so happy! I was glad Tonks was happy at the end and she wasn't in love with Black.

Finally, I can't believe Harry isn't planning to go back to school next year. I mean, the books are separated in years and Harry doesn't even plan to have a seventh year. Maybe that'll all change. That's something I could see like the Weasley's fighting that or something.

Oh, and I totally guessed Snape was the Half-Blood Prince halfway through the book.[/cut]

5 Days... That's 40 Hours!

~~~~ Grumpy
That's right, I have a mere 40 hours... that's 240 minutes... or 14,440 seconds until I never have to set foot inside that horrible factory again. I cannot wait!
Yesterday was awfully quiet. I slept in very late then lounged around and read. I finished The Order of the Phoenix and am now halfway through Half-Blood Prince. I'm not sure what to think yet. I'm pretty sure Harry's right and Draco's a Death-Eater but I can't decide about Snape. Rowling's made him such a complex character I can't decide if he's a Death-Eater or not. I'm still sure Dumbledore will die though... just my theory though! I'm sure I'll know in a day or two.
I went to the library yesterday and got my new book. I'm gonna read Lammas Night by Katherine Kurte. It's sorta weird. When I checked out the book the return date was labeled as August 15. That's only 4 days before I leave for Oxford. I don't know why but the thought that I'll have to start getting my books from somewhere other then my local library is really strange. It makes the reality that I'm leaving sink in a little more. I wonder how easy it is to get fiction books and such from the college library. I'm guessing I should check out the public library in Oxford once I get down there. I'm hoping they have a website as easy to use as mine.
Today my parents went to a jazz festival downtown and then to a Target about an hour away. I asked if I could come and they'd drop me off at the mall and get me when they're done. I wanted to get a faceplate for my new cell phone. But Daddy didn't want to go to the mall. I'm not sure what happened but I don't think he got that he didn't have to go to the mall. I dunno, he seems to have problems communicating with my mom at times. They bicker constantly. I wish I could have gone and gotten a faceplate but I guess I'll just save it for a time when I'll be off work. Which is only 5 days away!!!!
